Japanese lore is filled with rich storytelling - Hayaakitsuhime (Haya-Akitsu-Hime) is the goddess of the surrounding seas who devoured all the sins cast into her water and purified the tainted, evil energy into its original unsullied form. Kodokuna hakuchō depicts the deity embracing a graceful swan to her bosom amidst swirling ocean waves under an eternal moon.
